Default Can you guys tell me whats wrong with this restaurant?

well, its sposed to be a restaurant. i work as a buser/tray service at a senior retirement center that has its own restaurant. theres 2 restaurants...individual living and assisted living. IL is twice as big as AL. the problem maybe because its a retirement center, but anyway, here are the problems

the manager of the restaurant rarely buys new silverware, mugs, goblets, plates, etc. i only work mornings and afternoons but at night it gets really busy, every single table on both sides is full, and about 1/3 of them dont have any table settings. all the dishware is downstairs in the process of being washed, in the buscart in the kitchen, or on empty tables/peoples tables. at breakfast and lunch we still run out of stock but its not as bad as dinner. the Hosts/DS/etc have told our boss numerous times about this and he rarely will do anything about it. he doesnt work at night, he works mornings, lunch, and maybe stay 30 min past 4 at the most. most of the hosts/ds have stopped tellin our boss cuz he doenst care.

to give you an example of how bad the stock is, this last week when the night shift people were done setting up every single table, there was only SIX MUGS LEFT!!! so they gave 3 to each side for the morning crew.

another problem is the staff. kinda understaffed but thats not that big of a problem. the real problem is the training for the new employees. THEY ALL SUCK! i remember when i started workin here 2 years ago i wasnt as bad as the new guys today. i dont even know if they get trained. 2 years ago everyone got trained good but now its just ok. most of the people are nice tho.

fruits are over/under ripe. everyweek when im bussing tables one table tell me the papaya is not ripe. sometimes our pineapples have a brownish color to it. our strawberries are always old. the worst part is that i cant eat fruits at my work no more .

the thing that startles me is were the best retirement center in the country/state. i forget which one but we were ranked number 1. the furniture around the place is nice tho. they got nice activities/rooms/etc. but the restaurant can be a lot better. is he on a rediculously low budget? theres prolly some other stuff i forgot to mention but it dont matter. only reason i still work here is cuz its a 5min walk from my home and back and i still dont have my licence, the pay is good for a buser, it is incredibly easy if you work morning and noons ONLY. anyway, does anyone know wat is the problem w/ my boss? is he cheap as cheap can be or is he poor? gamble all his money at las vegas?

Is he the owner/manager or just employed by the village? Is he a new manager?
Sounds to me like he's on a very tight budget, maybe even limited to how many hours he's being paid to work. When the place was ranked #1 - was he the manager? Doesn't sound like it will keep that ranking if things go on in the same manner.
