Default Cake Flour

I'm doing a project for school, and I have to cook something. I've decided on a Dominican Cake. It calls for 'cake flour'. If I don't use cake flour, will something happen?

Clown lighten up your all purpose flour

use all purpose flour 85% and corn starch 15% sifted together and measured out in place of the cake flour.

Thanks M Brown! The cake turned out great, only the rum was a little strong. Think it's safe to burn the alcohol? Yeah I spelled that wrong.I think my mom said it's 'flombay' or something like that.

Aspiring chef,
Ryan
