What's With Food Network - Sheesh!

I've noticed that a lot of the cooking shows on FN are repeats of recently broadcast shows, and many of the shows are years old (some going back as far as 2004). It seems like they're not broadcasting many new shows. Anyone got some insight into this? I hate it when I settle in to watch a show and discover I saw it just a few weeks ago.

Yeah i noticed that as soon as i read your post. haha Well you know how they have their Thanksgiving shows on now, im pritty sure they are from a few years back, i think they just repeat their specials too.

The only thing that is consitantly new is Iron Chef America, and even that has repeats during the week, but atleast you know you can turn it on at 9 PM on sundays and have a new one to watch.

But i know what you mean. Im actualy watching it right now. haha

FWIW.... It just might have something to do with the writers strike. Not really sure but I do believe they work off a script and well...... It takes a writer to do the script.

I've noticed that, too. In some ways it's good because some of the talent has gone soooooooo overboard (Paula Deen, whom I like and respect, has jumped the shark with her "Paula's Party" show.).

It crossed my mind they may be doing a re-packaging of their lineup and shuffling some things for after the first of the year. But OldSchool's take is probably closer to the reality of it.

Nope ... the shows have been recycled and repeated since long before the writer's strike.

I agree they've been using a lot of re-runs, but they seem to be digging farther back in time. For instance, in a brief flip-through recently I noticed Sandra Lee with her wedding ring on and a thinner Alton Brown.
