Wink How do you "skin an octopus"?

Do you rub the skin off with a towel before cooking it in any way?

ive found the easiest way to skin a octopus is to do so after blanching in a court bouillon.

I would assume that to skin octopus prior to cleaning would be to make a cut somewhere on the body and grip the skin with a clean clothe and pull - somewhat like skinning a flatfish.
