Default What can a newb cook for his wife?

Ok so I would like some suggestions of a cool meal that I can make for my wife that doesnt take too long, a newb can make it, doest cost a lot, and materials available at walmart.

So if anyone has any suggestions of a dish I could make for my wife let me know.

She likes all sorts of food except anything with ketchup and pork.

At home I have a descent kitchen and tools.....

The only food I know how to cook are, spaghetti, eggs, pancakes and thats about...

So to sum it up I would like
-suggestions of a nice meal to cook for my wife
-a guide on how to cook that meal
-the approx cost

Thanks!

There are hundreds of websites with recipes on them. I suggest you look some up, decide what ingredients you want to use and give those parameters to the site's search engine. I would bet you get hundreds of recipes off each site you visit. Price should never be a concern if you are using readily available products.

That's about all my wife could cook when we got married

I taught her how to make pizza using frozen bread dough as a crust (roll it out when thawed but still cold). It's really easy if you use canned spaghetti sauce for the sauce, and provides for some variation.

one guy I dated in college made.....spaghetti with butter, garlic, peas and shrimp....easy, tasty and fairly inexpensive....depends on the size shrimp you use....could even be salad shrimp if that fits your budget.

melt 1 stick of butter in a sauce pan, add a couple of minced (chopped finely) garlic cloves and cook on medium for 5 minutes. while the garlic is cooking take a strainer and put 1 cup of frozen peas and 1 1/2 cups of frozen shrimp (approx, more if you'd like) in a colander and run water over them to thaw. When thawed add to the garlic butter and warm through....do not over cook.
Boil the noodles. drain. put back in the pot and add the shrimp butter.

Served with salad....baby lettuce with mandrian oranges and pecans or croutons is nice.
Rolls

Something Chocolate.

I hope you no longer need to beat her by now.

not sure what you meant by that . . .

I've always liked cooking and she hasn't. Her mom made sure she felt incompetent. I never tried to be better than her.
