Default Calling Miami area Chefs/Residents or people who know that area..

I am traveling to Miami, FL in a week and a half and have never been before. My friend who is not very food savvy has only lived there for a year and isn't sure of where some of the best markets are for fresh local ingredients. I'm planning on doing a decent amount of cooking there and would really appreciate if people who know that area could point me in the right direction for where to shop. I would particularly love to go to any outdoor markets. Also if anyone wants to chime in on where I must go to eat while I am in town feel free!

Thanks in advance.

there's a lot of good central/latin american places in Miami...hard to say which ones are the best, I haven't been in around 5 years. Be sure to get some fried yuca!
