Default Which do you prefer the taste of?

When it comes to taste, which do you like better, corn fed or grass fed beef?

USDA Prime. I don't care if it's grass fed or not. Hmm... wait that means corn fed I guess.

I'm not a big fan of beef but I prefer grass fed, for the same reasons as venison, elk and bison.

A bit of clarification. I like pasture fed beef (steers only) that are "finished off for 2-3 months on corn and maybe beets, before being butchered. They must be dry-aged for 2-4 weeks at the proper temperature and humidity.

So, I guess I like grass fed/corn fed beef the best!

And as Kuan pointed out, Prime, with its outstanding marbling of fat, is preferred.

Grass fed beef tends to be a little more full flavored (gamier?) than corn fed beef, but you can't beat corn fed beef for marbling so it is a toss up. It depends on my mood and the cooking method I guess.

Default I grew up in the heartland where cows

lived on CORN, so I am partial to corn-fed beef. That said, I have traveled in New Zealand where corn is not grown and all livestock eats nothing but grass and frankly, I find it all completely flavorless.
