| Hey everybody! Every time I come back to this site, I get hungry and want to cook up some elaborate meal. There are a lot of really great ideas on this site, so thank you. The only problem though is that some things wouldn't really agree with my stomach, if you know what I mean. What does everyone do to keep your digestion on track? Do you eat and specialty foods or do you take supplements? Lemme know because I want to get back to the foods you're all raving about. |

| I eat everything in moderation. Sorry, not particularly revolutionary, I know... What "issues" do you have? Food intolerences? If you have an 8 course meal which includes cream and foie gras among other things, chances are most of us would be a little blah after that... I don't take supplements for digestion. The probiotic craze is already proving to be just as detrimental to our well-being as the anti-bacterial soap craze. Nothing beats a self-regulating digestive track. |

| A balanced diet is what does it for me and I have serious digestive issues. A meal of dairy and meat calls for some serious fruit and veg for the next few meals. That and Beano... My digestion issues usually lead to some severe gas so my sweetie forces me to take those. One day I'll learn that food shouldn't be painful and stop eating the foods that I'm allergic to but in the mean time, I'll eat my Beano and enjoy cooking and eating whatever I choose. A balanced diet, Beano, and moderation. They make my life worth living!

| Hi, I have a problem with digestion as well..I just don't eat the foods that tend to cause me discomfort...eggs, ice cream, milk, any type of shellfish. I know that if you chew papaya tablets, they help in your digestion, sometimes I will take them so that I may have something that I don't typically eat but that I have a craving for. |

| I know how it goes. I ended up in the hospital not too long ago because my chest was hurting and I couldn't breathe. Turned out it was extremely severe heart burn and my body produced so much stomach acid that it began to go into my esophagus. The people told me to take 40 mg. of Prilosec in the morning until it got better. Then to drop to 20. I'm not sure if this would help at all, but that's what I'm stuck doing. Papaya and pineapple helps as well.

| peppermint tea or green tea is great for releiving the gassy feeling and help to aid digestion especially after a big meal Marshmellow root tablets are good for digestion , charcoal tablets are good for flatulance, fresh ginger is good for helping digestion, if you eat a bowl of something hot and spicy like a curry or a chilli eating a slightly underripe banana afterwards stops you getting indigestion a glass of hot water from the kettle with a squeeze of lemon juice is good especially first thing in the morning and after a meal to help your digestive system be kind to the rest of your body |

| Grazing... I eat a little and often. Very rarely eat a meal-sized meal. I make an effort for family dinner, but can't be doing with a plateful at a time. I'm still 2 1/2 stone overweight though. Guess i just eat wee bits of the wrong food. If i dont overload the system, I feel it has a fighting chance to deal with the all the stuff I put away.

| Hi Bakeaholic, i am no doctor..... If you are referring to heartburn, it means the valve that should be closed tightly above your stomach is not. The most common culprit of this is caffeine. If you consume lots of cola, coffee, chocolate, tea in one day, you should reduce that. Caffeine relaxes the sphincters (the GI tract valves). That is why coffee in particular may appear to have a laxative affect on some times. Other heartburn causes are stomach ulcers (you should have that checked) and sudden weight gain. Obesity compresses on the stomach which may make it leak upwards. There are other factors but those are the most common. Eating less fat, chewing more your food, eating slowly, Reduce your stress, reducing caffeine intake, straitening the torso after meals (not by lying down) like walking after dinner, lose weight, eat less refine sugars if you are insulin resistant or prediabetic can all help alleviate these symptoms. Odd chances also that you may have celiac disease (allergy to gluten). Having regular digestion problems is not normal for a healthy individual. You should seek medical advice. Luc H.

| Hey everybody, thanks for all the help. Has anyone ever looked into prebiotic fibers in that case? LiveActive foods, a company devoted to promoting digestive health, uses them along side with whole grains in their cereals to promote a healthy digestive system. |
