Hey, this topic reminds me that I have just recently started noticing these veggie burgers everyone's talking about in the grocery stores. I also noticed some veggie hot dogs. I was wondering if these are a lot healthier for you than the regular hamburgers and hot dogs? I haven't eaten these veggie hot dogs and hamburgers yet because I was really at a loss to tell if they are good for you or not. Since I have seen this topic now, I think I am going to try some soon.

We used to make chorizo and egg burritos in the morning when we camped as kids in CA...love that stuff. Was there a brand name on this product?? I'd love to find it.

I've got a coupon for new vegetarian hot dogs, so might try them. My mom, who is in the health food businesss use to sell them, and they were BAD! I ended up giving them to the dog. But that was a few years ago. I'm sure they're improved!

FYI...the veggie hot dogs I've tried have been terrible. I don't mind having a veggie burger that is somewhat trying to pass itself off as a regular burger. I don't want to eat red meat but I do miss a burger. I like the roasted onion Bocas, the basil tomato pizza burgers by Morningstar are good but higher in calories, the corn dogs are great, the Mstar breakfast patties are good, the bacon looks questionable (Mstar) but I like it on a BLT.

Backpeddling on my recommendation of the Boca Roasted Onion burgers...I see I posted that I enjoyed them back in July...not sure if I can face another veggie burger (still not eating meat except for the wonderful dry rubbed slowly smoked bbq'd ribs hubby made last week for our party), and the last box of roasted onion burgers just didn't taste right to me.

On the bright side...I'm still working out out 1.5 - 2 hrs a day 5-6 x a week..and have lost about 12-15 lbs (depending on the day!)..<s>...in the last nine weeks.

Just need to pull out the Cooking Light and Vegetarian cookbooks more, I'm totally in a rut.
