Default Pecans

I have always liked pecans, but never knew how good they could be. When I first had them fresh, they were almost a different thing. Those of you who haven't had them fresh might be in for a surprise.

My sis ordered some for me from Sunnyland Farms in Georgia, and now they're one of my favorite things. I especially like the orange-flavored ones and their turtles. Their business has gotten a lot bigger since then in a short time, but hopefully the quality will stay the same--I say it's definitely worth a try. Get some really fresh ones and they're not the same as the ones in the baking section in the supermarket.

the pecan tree is our state tree. I have 3 in my yard. Can't get much fresher than hand picked and hand shelled. I remember as a little girl around the age of six, picking up pecans and putting them into pillow cases. Ahh, nostalgia, I do love pecans.

Oh, that one takes me right back to childhood! My mom used to make something similar all the time in the summer, and to this day, I still can't think of it as summer unless I've had that salad.

I used to live in a house where we had a pecan tree in the back yard. Every 2 years we'd pick up pounds & pounds of them. In the inbetween years we'd get a about a pound. I never figured out why the every-other-year thing
