Argh..., I missed the event last year, and I'm hated myself for it.

This year, I will surely attend this event with my family and friends, as they all also dedicated cookers as well.

Will keep you guys update with what I've done at this event later on...

The Fancy Food Show is the leading show for the industry for companies to show off their new products to the consumers and theres TONS of free samples. Its just cool to see whats new and happening in the industry quicker then most people can. Its in NY for the 54th time (June 29 - July 1, 2008 - Jacob K. Javits Center) and the 34th time in San Fran, CA (January 18-20, 2009 - Moscone Center)

You do have to buy tickets ahead of time.

Heres the website for more information:

Default Was Fantastic

The show was fantiastic! Saw lots of old friends and made new ones. Beautiful products.

Also, Went to Maze for dinner at the London hotel, had a tour of Ramsey's kitchen. Just wonderful.

Made a pilgrimige to Bridge Kitchenware before their NJ move.

Great meal at the Little Club.

Good Times!

TOTAL COSTS? How much did it cost you guys for transportation, board, the show, all of the seminars, and etc.?

I'd love to do this in January. Is it strictly for business operators or can we normal folks attend too?

What seminars and speakings were there?

Well it was in NYC, and I live about an hour and half out of the city so i just drove in each day. Tickets are sold for the intire show, not really sure how much it cost me, moms took care of it for me.

Its really for anyone I mean you have to have a ligit reason on why you are going to be there but mostly you can just get in, you need to buy tickets ahead of time as well. Making sure to bring a bag with you because of free samples.

Fancy food show shel is just a show showing what there is new comming out in the industry and what leading companies are looking to do in the near future.

Great expereince.

I enjoyed it very much so.

Went to the NY FFS at Javits in mid-1990's, Ben and Jerry's was scooping a bizarre new flavor of ice cream....."Cookie Dough".

there is also the Chicago FFS at McCormick......great seminars for some extra $$$...I've been several times and have enjoyed Michael Roman's talks on catering. Doesn't matter how long you've been in the business, there is always a nuget of information that makes sitting through the shtuff you know or have forgotten worth the effort. Several of my catering friends have gone to Los Vegas in Jan. for Michael's event, event. They always come back jazzed. It's fairly pricey but specific to catering events.

Definately a pig out couple of days.
The last few times I've gone it just seemed like the same ole same old. Chicago chefs had a tasting event at McCormick with a goodly amount (40+) places represented raising money for I think the Beard House at that time.
Some jems amoungst the rabel.....good time, great food, super just being able to walk through the building to get to the event.
