| | "Newman's Own" Paul Newman is gone, but his product line goes on - with all profits still going to charity, I would assume.
So this question is for all who shop in supermarkets and have enjoyed some of his organic snack foods, his salad dressings or sauces:
What is your favorite " Newman's Own" product (or products)?

| | I really like his decaff coffee. It's one of the only decaffs I have tried that doesn't taste weak. |

| | I no longer buy Newman's Own products. I tried a few items and was greatly disappointed with their taste and quality. I checked the Newman's Own cat food and found that the label description of the food being organic was an outright misrepresentation. Newman created their own definition of organic, and the company they bought their chicken from at the time did not produce any organic birds.
Overall, I find Newman's Own to be an overrated product line, not much different than any commercial supermarket brand. Around here, at least, Newman's own is available in many organic groceries and small stores. One needn't visit a supermarket to get the goods.
I've always enjoyed Paul Newman the actor, but his food line left me disappointed.

| | I've never used any of Newman's Own products. Just don't use the products he sold under his label, or had other sources of products I already liked. |

| | I really like Fig Newmans, too! And I'm talking about the fat free ones (I'll bet the others are even better tasting, but I don't need to know that).
I guess I love his microwave popcorn best of all. I often have popcorn and an apple for dinner - after cooking a meal for everyone else.
My employer's grandchildren like Newman-O's (they've never had an Oreo, to my knowledge) and actually the little rascals prefer Newman-O's to any homemade cookie I bake.

| | Perhaps my favorite PN movie is Somebody Up There Likes Me. I also have a special fondness for The Hustler but thats greatly in part because of the other cast members, especially Gleason and Piper Laurie. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid gave lots of pleasure. And who can forget Exodus and Kesey's Sometimes a Great Notion?
Generally speaking, I liked many, if not most, of Newman's movies.
It's interesting to note that I have a personal connection to something or someone in all of these movies, and that may influence my feeling about them.

| | My three favorites are:
Cool Hand Luke-mmmmmmm
The Long Hot Summer
-with Joanne Woodward-it's clear they were in the throes of new love. The chemistry between these two terrific actors is infectious.
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
-Paul's great, Liz is a beautiful and sensually forceful as she ever was and besides, even though censors white-washed the script to a criminal degree, a Tennessee Williams story can't be beat. | |
