Question Sitram Stainless Steel Cookware from France

Has anyone used or heard od Sitram Stainless Steel Cookware from France? There are 2 lines, the Catering line and the Professional line? A cooking store in my neighborhood says it is great cookware.
Would love comments!
Thank you,
Susan

Thumbs up

Hi Sue,

I don't know that much about Sitram, but I do know that the best line of cooking gear is from All-Clad. I've tried Calphalon and Magnalite, and by far All-Clad cooks the best. I have their stainless steel set (all pots/pans have aluminum cores and will work on induction ranges). Their non-stick frypans and saute pans are the only ones I've ever used that ACTUALLY can brown food (like hash browns). Good luck.

Cool

I have used Sitram for 10 years. Cooking properties comparable to All-Clad. (I also use All-Clad and agree that it cooks well.) I was introduced to Sitram by Bridge Kitchenware of New York. Mr. Bridge sneered at All-Clad, observing that it pitted and was difficult to maintain. I find, in use, that Sitram achieves pan-heat a touch more quickly, and, as Mr. Bridge pointed out, that you can use a Brillo pad to clean it without fear of damaging. Also, Sitram pans are deeper than the same size All-Clads. Pricing equivalent to All-Clad.

Cool

Dear Robert G,
Thank you for answering my question about Sitram cookware. I can get a good deal on a full set, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't being sold. It does look comparable to All-Clad.
Thanks again for your insight
Susan

Wink

my mom loves shopping discounts in florida. I have planted the seed of this cookware and asked her to be on the look out for discounts. I will share locations if found. Otherwise, Bridgekitchenware.com is your best bet, call them for a full cataloge as the web site has only 15% of their inventory listed.
