I visited Barcelona and had one of the most memorable meals of my life - and that was in the fall of 1954 at the end of NATO naval exercises in the western Med.
It was
Los Caracoles and I kind of think it is still around, since it was over 100 years old at the time I was there. I was told by a very sophisticated French lady (not connected with the restaurant) that it was considered one of the world's best restaurants.

Be sure to order the snails.
Of course, the Jamon Iberico de Belotta.
Call El Bulli tomorrow morning and see if you can get a reservation. It seems to me a real shame to get as (relatively) close to it as you will and not have a shot at what's supposed to be a contemporary "best in the workd" meal.
By close, I mean on the same continent.
By the way, if you can pay the way for somebody to carry your bags on this trip, give me a call.
Mike.
