Being one of the lowest links on the food chain isn't an easy job! I am stuck in the pantry at the club that I work in. I see so many things going on that I want to add my input. I have been given a chance (LOL) to be our fish fry person on Fri. nights and I hate it! Hire a kid to fry your fish!!! They like the chance to be on the line. I am more capable than they have seen because I don't get the chance to COOK. Salads and sandwiches aren't my thing. Before I came to the club, I was a working kitchen manager. Before that I was the lead line cook at a NICE restaurant. Now I took a job at a prestigious club in the pantry, just to get in the doors. They knew my history and checked references... I am wondering why I have not been given the chance I feel I deserve. Maybe someone will be leaving after the first of the year! There is a high turnover here, so I think my chance will come! Christmas bonuses have been handed out and everybody is frustrated! Patience, patience, patience... I am not a doctor, I don't want to need "patience" for my livelihood! Are there others out there with other "being green" stories?

Iam sorry you are having to go through this. I too fret having to be so patient when I finally get into the kitchen. All I can say is hang in.. Happy holidays. Iam sure one of the people here will have the answer. Danielle

my employer treats me like a spastic (sometimes). However, if the point being argued will go in my favor, i will not back down. The major problem is that, if you get done on a prob that is not in your favour,,,,. [This message has been edited by Nick.Shu (edited 12-24-2000).]
