| I'm doing a research report for my senior english class on being a chef. I choose this topic because I want to be a chef. One of the requirments is to discuss where the term chef started and discuss some of the history.I am having trouble finding info if some one can point me in the right direction that would be great. Any books or sites on the web would work fine Also I has to do a interview with a chef so if anybody is interested please let me know. | Jeff...right in the Chef's Talk web site in the education archives is an excellent article on the history of chefs and thier uniforms. That is a place to start. |

| Jeff an excellent book that would give you a great insight into a great chef and the history of cooking is "The Selected Soyer" compiled by Andrew Langley. Good luck. |
