| | LuvPie, good idea for a thread and there is another one going on too: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Supper -- what are you cooking?
It sounds like you're set up for a feast
I just moved into an apartment and my dinner will be microwaved Michelina's or Budget Gourmet entrees |

| | Got some really good ground beef (a friend has a small cattle farm and raises grass fed beef) so I made some hamburgers with all the fixins. I found a recipe for burger buns on some random blog. They sounded good so I gave them a try and they were in fact, very good.
I tried for some oven baked chips but that wasn't such a great success.
Strawberries and whipped cream for desert. |

| | I had some frozen turkey bits that were getting in the way of other stuff in the freezer. Thawed them out the other day, made a really nice turkey broth last night. Was planning on a turkey mushroom noodle soup for dinner, but somehow making soup on a 97F day just didn't appeal to me. DId a chicken and mushroom saute over fettucini with a rhubarb - cranberry relish on the side.

| | I'm on my own tonight.
I've already given the dog the remains of my prawn salad cos i made the dressing too sweet and smothered it n it was horrid...He picked his way through it tho.
I've now enjoyed beans on toast with a fried egg on top. Put cheddar under the beans.
I WILL Pay for that later. Lucky for him, OH is in Rio

| | I cooked for the whole sales crew (14 people) and made the following..
Caprese Salad
Penne pasta with sausage, artichoke hearts, sundried tomatoes with a sauce done with lemon zest, lemon juice and white wine and olive oil and finished with fresh basil. (I did name it Penne Sorrento)
Everyone loved the dish and wanted to know where I got the recipe... Had to laugh because there wasn't one My buddy asked "when did you come up with this?"... "tonight" I answered!!
However, I also learned the importance of change in the kitchen.... one of the guests cannot have regular pasta but needed the gluten free. I had it all ready for the sauce but in my haste, I used all the sauce in the main dish and was getting ready to plate it all when I turned around to see the plate of BLANK pasta... quick saucepan, some tomato sauce, stole some sausage from the main dish, wine, fresh oregano, basil and plated his red sauce in time to serve it all together with apologies to him. He told his wife it was the best sauce he'd ever had... now see if she ever cooks him another meal after that comment! Oh.. the look she gave him!!! just priceless!! |

Lemon zest is a secret ingredient of mine. Shh, The silence of the lemons that everyone can hear.
That sounds really good, FLItal |

| | It was.... I had to recreate the **** thing for everyone. You know how it is.. some of this... that looks right... etc..etc... Then figure out... how much of that did I put in?
Must have worked the comments are still coming in..
FYI>.. I used bulk italian sausage so I didn't have to squeeze it from the casings.. browned it good while the pasta water boiled.... add the pasta; do the remainder of the sauce. Pasta's done.. combine it all ... 40 minute total time from start to table.. |
