What kind of almond paste?

Do you mean Marzipan?

Check out Famous Foods on Kingsway or Gourmet Warehouse on Hastings

If you mean almond paste for filling pastries, it's by the pie filling in any good sized grocery store. Don't know about Van Couver though as I don't live there. We have a lot of Scandanavians, Poles and Germans in my area and they use it for Kalachis and other pastries. There's usually prune, date and apricot fillng next to it. If you find the others but not the almond, then they probably don't have it but could get it if you ask.
