LOL~ now that is an arguement I can accept....For years my mom did Canyon Ranch and other Health Spas....you know that never got me, several thousand dollars to eat lean for 2 weeks and exercise exstensively...what kinda vacation is that. Plop me down on a massuse table and kneed my body for 1 1/2 hours without ever leaving town. San Diego huh....

Believe me, this place AIN"T La Costa.Very low key setting, no tv's, radios -
you want a phone in your room you gotta rent one. It's nickname among my circle of friends who stay there is 'the rubber hose ranch' due to the large amount of colonic work that goes on there...
But it's definitely a place for healing - they have a large organic garden which provides the majority of food , grow all their own wheat grass and sprouts...
and it's pretty inexpensive (I know, I know, they're not FEEDING you anything).
I recomend it for anyone looking to develop an alternative food lifestyle...
Peace.

Matthew Kenney is another notable raw foods chef, I just landed a job working with him @Welcome to 105degrees.com|Oklahoma's premiere Raw & Living Foods destination|Opening in Oklahoma City's Classen Curve in September as sous chef here in Oklahoma City. we are going to have a restaurant serving breakfast lunch and dinner seven days a week, have a boutique, and also going to offer nationally certified classes on "fundementals of raw cusine", and "advanced raw cusine" Raw foods are new to me but I'm convinced that it is a healthy way to eat and its not quite as limiting as you might think.

Julia Butterfly Hill came to town for a reception a year after this thread was started. One of my fine dining chef friends served 8 of us a raw foods lunch...multicourse. It was viabrant. Amazing flavors. If there were a restaurant in town serving top notch raw I'd eat there, but preparing it is just too much fuss.
