| | | Your favorite cuppa java? I've been a Dunkin Donuts coffee devotee for a long time. (No snickering, please!)
This past weekend I had a cup of coffee that positively made me euphoric. It was the Guatemala blend at Wild Oats, a health food store chain (with a very nice cafe, btw). Strong, low acidity and smells heavenly. |

| | Anything really strong. I know it's not good, but my day can't get started without some strong coffee.

| | Java (_)? I used to love getting a big cup of hot Dunkin' Donuts coffee and getting on the subway, the R line to be exact. Ah the days...
I moved to CO to be with my guy (whom I met online and am now with 4 years) and he got me hooked on using dark French roast in our morning coffee. What normally gets used as espresso (there is no X in espresso), we use in our regular drip coffee pot. Jet fuel, freshly ground and delicious.
Now for my embarassing confession. Here goes: My husband and I love a cup of Fake-a-cino from the machines that squirt hot water into a cup of powder. We usually stop at gas stations while on long road trips and get a huge cup and share it. From coffee snob to plebian. I'll stand in the corner now. |

| | Yeah, That's IT Sorry, my doc says that short term memory loss sometimes happens to pregnant women and its normal. I can see the can in my head but cant make out the writing.
And as for you fake a chino, I confess to still getting those once in a while at the restaurants. I loooove em with cheesecake or tiramisu. Ill go join you in the corner.

| | | Shawty how do you get your caffeine fix now? Have you quit the stuff altogether or have you taken up hot chocolate or tea?
Please be careful of all stuff that squirts out of a nozzle in vending machines. A coworker recently told me about a research study he'd read on the bacteria that live on those nozzles and in the tubing. Very unhygienic. |

| | I have a cuppa joe at our diner.. I wash the dishes sometimes so I know they are definately clean there. But mostly Im getting by on two cups of Milo (pronounced My-low. its a spanish chocolate drink similar to Ovaltine) or decaf tea, no milk or sugar. Love my tea straight up and strong like any pseudo Brit from the caribbean.
For some strange reason, I get sick just stepping into a restaurant these days. The doc says that its a survival mechanism that some preg women develop since eating out could be potentially risky. Thats why we develop aversions to rare meat, eggs and some cheeses. GO figure! Ive been cooking lots of nice veggie pasta dishes (meat makes me queasy), soup and have meat once a week.

| | Shawty, If you're not eating a lot of meat, please be sure to keep your protein intake up, re fish, cheese, dairy, or some of the soy substitutes on the market (Morningstar Farms, Bocaburger, etc.). You need lots of protein to build that little baby!!!! And so you won't be depleted after the baby is born.

| | Always had probs with the meat dept. When I say I dont eat "meat" but once a week, I meat red meat. I eat lots of chicken and fish as always, plus cheese, milk, fruits and veggies. Grew up on an island where you needed the goat for the milk. Couldn't eat Buster you know. Ive always had to take iron supplements because of my low intake of red meat. Ive joked with people that when they go to the doc the doc says, "eat less red meat" when I go the doc says "eat more red meat". With my supplements and the lovely flounder and chicken dishes I make my protein and iron are fine.
I looked at the food pyramids and realized that I eat practically a basic Mediterranean Diet. Without the wine.

| | Is it safe to say the "S" word? What? I like Starbucks, OK? And it's convenient. There are 5 of them within a 3 minute walk from my office. At my "local" I don't even have to ask. As they see me pass the window, they start to make it and it's done by the time I pay for it.

| | I'm enjoying various Alterra blends. It's a small roasting company here in Milwaukee. Check it out here: http://www.alterracoffee.com/index2.html
I like coffee strong enough to march down the throat, and I've been quite happy with theirs. I've also tried a Bolivian blend from Trader Joe's, courtesy of Momoreg, and it was great- long gone, but not forgotten.
