Yes! I always felt a little guilty if anyone saw me doing it though.
Recently we were serving braised lamb shanks and it was all I could do to stop myself from sucking the marrow out of each serve.

Hello my name is Monkey and I'm a...oh wait - wrong addiction group...

Salty crunchy things -blister peanuts, pepitas, sesame crackers, sunflower seeds, POPCORN (big time with parmesan and japanese chili pepper)

Thick, strong black coffee with sugar and a cigarette(yeah, yeah, I know...)

Bacon (thick cut applewood smoked)MStevens I'm so jealous! My tomatoes are almost ready - I can't wait !

Stinky, runny cheese

Fried dough and sugar in whatever form it takes

Okay, I'll sit down now.

Monkey

p.s. Chrose - Did you ever see the Albert Brooks movie "Defending Your Life"?
It's your food fantasy- the only drawback being you're already dead!

I haven't seen it but it sounds like my kind of movie!
Gives me something to look forward to. The last time I was there it was all black!

Kind of reminds me of an episode of Leave it to Beaver I saw tonight.
Chefboy all google & moon eyed. Floating 6" off the ground like a puppy in love
Enjoy it, Wally.

You're feeling good now, enjoy it. It'll pass. Things never come to stay.....(Don't think me too much of a wet blanket. I've had more trouble in life because I get all comfy, happy and situated, and expect things to stay the same and I'm always shocked and hurt when they don't.)

Hey TBH,

I can't be all bad. I used to think that way too. Everytime something good happened in my life I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. You just can't live that way. Besides...nothing ever stays the same. Every Sunrise and Sunset is different. If I died tomorrow I would rather die on cloud 9 than with the regret that I pushed happiness away.

Chefboy,

Enjoy the moment. Revel in the happiness and excitement. Who cares what will happen later. Enjoy today.

Default addictions

Anything smoked, salmon, sable (omigod), bacon, ribs, chipotles, turkey.

If they smoked vanilla ice cream, that would be a compound affliction.

Hey, Robertito -- it wouldn't be that difficult to do. After all, I've seen instructions for smoked butter (stovetop smoker, pecan shells as fuel, ...) Watch out, that might be next from Ben & Jerry! (if they're listening in here )

Wel, this remains to be seen. I'm about to begin a kitchen/bath remodel, the fruits of which finally include a range hood. But being in a high-rise condo, it will be recirculating, so I'm not so sure that the stovetop smoker will be in the cards.
