| I was at the market last night and came across these in the berry section. Having never seen them or heard of them before I, of course, had to pick up a basket to bring home and try. They had an interesting flavor...not too sweet. But of course since I don't know what they're supposed to taste like I'm not sure if these are nice ones and ripe or not. They're small and golden...almost like a gold currant, but a little larger than a currant. Each one is enclosed in three dried goldenish leaves that you peel back to get at the fruit. With the three leaves pulled back it's a very pretty fruit... Anybody here familiar with these? Any suggestions on things to do with them? This package came from Ontario...I was wondering if any of our friends there have seen them? Thanks! |
