Confused I need help with a project PLEASE

I am a 13 year old 8th grader who is doing a project on my chosen occupation. I have chosen chef as what I would like to be and part of the grade is to interview a working chef. I know no one around my area who will help me out. Is there anyone out there who is a chef who will answer some questions about your job for me. I need this done by Thursday night 10/ 24.

Where are you located? Find a culinary school, give them a quick call to see who you can talk to, and then go there. That's all I can think of right now, seeing how you need to get it done Thursday night. Most chefs who work in restaurants are busy, and no, they hardly have any time for you. They are busy all the time.

Hey there Spec,
I am a chef with 19 years experience.
If you can e-mail me the questions I will answer them.
As Kuan said, we are all very bury especialy between 12 pm and 12 am.
If that works for you, cool. If not call that culinary school or mabye the human resourcces department of a large hotel in your area and see if they can set up 15 minutes for you to meet one of their chefs.
Good luck,
Jon

I hope your teacher gave you more than 2 days to complete this assignment. I don't think it's practical for any professional in any field to set aside time for an interview with no advance notice.

It sounds like this was put off until now or you just found this board. But just call like mentioned before of even a local ACF chapter and go from there. Tomorrow is Thursday. Your chances of getting a chef to sit and answer questions tonight are slim. If you don't find one, e-mail me the questions by 8:00 pm PST and I'll try to help you out. Next time just give a longer notice and you'll get a better result.

Hello specialk, and welcome to Chef Talk.

As you can see, there are many people who would be happy to help you. If being a chef is what you are interested in, this is a great place to explore. Because you're an eighth grader, I encourage you to have your parents visit the board to see that for themselves. You can have them contact me or Nicko, the board administrator, if they have questions.

Specialk,

Call your local Culinary School, they'll give you a tour, lots of info you can use for your project, and one of the Culinary instructors will do an interview for you. All the Chefs at my school have over 20 years experience, and said they'd be more then happy to help someone considering the profession. Hopefully your local school will feel the same way. Since it's not due until 10/24 you have time to complete an excellent project.

Ever seeking knowledge

Hey, guys,

Look at the dates on this thread. It's five years old.

Original poster would now be 18, and, if he followed up, is probably entering culinary school.
