I miss my all time fave. I LOVE the BBQ chicken pizza from Superossa. While they aren't the best pizza in Chicago, they aren't half bad and since I used to live down the block from the one on Central Ave... Anyway,,,Smoky BBQ sauce, romano cheese, red onions and lotsa chicken,,YUM!

Since I do not have that option, ice cream (anything from Ben & Jerry's, Cherry Garcia baby!), garlic mashed potatoes anytime, or a grilled cheese with tomato soup, mmm mmm!!!!

Something Italian. As Italian as I can get. I find this to be the most comforting. If I'm in such doldrums, I'll eat something Italian and watch Moonstruck. And when Nick Cage is trying to get Cher up in his apartment after the opera and he extends his hand out to her, I will yell "Go with him, go with him!!!" as though I've never seen the movie before.

Then I'll feel better.

Campbell"s Tomatoe Soup, made with milk, broken Snyder Hard Pretzels for croutons, sprinkled with shredded cheese. Process American or Velveeta is best. When I am feeling Ill-ish, as with an oncomming cold, it is the best.
Otherwise...Jack Black with a beer back!

M & M's.

They require no prep, taste better then alchol and sooth my nerves. I eat them as slowly- one at a time- as possible so I can spend hours eating 1 bag.

Homemade chicken noodle soup, with homemade noodles. Too bad I always want this when I am too sick to make it.

I had brisket for the first time the other day, that with garlic mashed potato is now on my list of comfort food.

No way, Isa......isn't brisket something every Mom makes? oops maybe it's more of a Jewish thing.......? In the mid-west (where I'm at) Mom makes it with a ketchup type glaze (our meat loafs too).....even yummier then a brown gravy.

P.S. What do you all (Canadians) make of the mad cow disease scare your having? Is it having any real effects yet?

Hey now...let's not get sexist here. I'm no Mom, but I do make a mean brisket with onions, ketchup, brown sugar and barbecue sauce, among other things.

Ok...just kidding on the sexist thing!

My friend Joy, with whom I am staying right now, made the brisket and she has to be the best Jewish mother I know.

As for the mad cow, I rarely eat beef, the brisket was an exception, so it does not worry me. Agriculture Canada has very strict requirement for testing the animals.

Mine is a sandwich.... a really good sandwich. Usually some sort of cold-cut with provolone or swiss, or even both, and griddled... hmm..... think I'll make one now.
