Default It's so ironic

Watching the news of the past few days, I can't help but be amazed of the images. Two presidents die. Gerald Ford, a man that put bi-partisanship back into the white house, and Saddam Hussein, a complete tyrant. The images of Hussein being led to the gallows, and then watching the state funeral for Ford just sticks in my mind as ironic. And then the influence and controversial James Brown. There will be a lot of history written about these last few days of 2006.

CC, my thoughts drifted in the same plane as yours. I was thinking yesterday, upon hearing that Saddam's hanging was near, that they'd probably do it today (Saturday) or Sunday so they could have it done by the new year and so as not to interfere with Ford's funeral. (I wish I could be that accurate picking stocks....)

I agree with your observation that Ford was from a time when lawmakers could actually work together regardless of party. Maybe all this reminiscence of Ford's life and work will inspire others to reclaim that tradition. A girl can hope, can't she?
