The Making of a Pastry Chef had some interesting commentary about women in pastries from women pastry chefs. Also explanations of why that seems to be the case.

Also recommend looking on food-related web pages for links to prpfessinal women chefs organizations to post your request if you haven't already.

If you have trouble finding articles, how about interviewing women chefs?

BTW, why all the research?

I'm pretty sure there is a book entittled something like "women chefs". I saw it at the book store in the professional cooking area at Barnes & Noble.

Talking

I would suggest going to www.sfgate.com and heading to the food page, via entertainment. It is the SF Chronicle's web site and there are tons of very successful women here. And they are written about all the time. You just need to know who they are. Also www.starchefs.com has pages on celeb chefs, some of whom are women. There are biographies on Elizabeth David, look on www.amazon.com. Finally there is http://www.chefnet.com/wcr the home of women chefs and restaurateurs.
Good luck
