Post Guilty Pleasures

After seeing Chef Simpson's post on types of music we cooks like to listen to, I thought I'd turn it around. (I actually stole this idea from one of my music sights.) What album/CD do you have in your collection that could ruin your reputation? Do you scoff at it publicly yet secretly dig it when you're all alone? I have two: k.d.lang and The Reclines "Absolute Torch and Twang" AND Warrant's "Dirty, Rotten, Filthy Stinking Rich." Who's next? Confess and you shall be absolved...heh, heh.

Only on the mostly anonymous internet would I admit to owning a copy of Jefferson Starship's "Red Octopus" (only bought it for the song "Miracles").

Oh man, I have sooo many! I think John Denver's Greatest Hits has to be the most incriminating. But I also have the Best of Bread. I trust you all with that information, okay?

In my car I keep a copy of a Alice and chains cd. I crank it when I need a lift. They are a good band, But my wife and Daughters would have a cow if I tried to play it inside

I'm gonna have to check out my collection for the REAL loser albums, but off the top of my head, Little River Band-Greatest Hits and REO Hi-InFidelity (but, I love them Both!)

I guess it's all the Dan Fogelburg left over from High School. The Kate Bush from College and the XTC that my husband hates from 10 years ago. Does Ellen Foley count? She sang with Meatloaf, Dated the guy from the Clash than Starred on Night Court for a season or two. Besides the Fogelburg, I'm okay in my loser music collection. Kansas and Stix I think I still have and will play only when the children misbehave when they get to high school.

My scariest is probably the Brady Bunch album that I still having around (of course that person gave me the Brady Brunch Cookbook last year for my birthday...). I still have Wham! Wake me up before you Go Go -- which is wonderful music to annoy roommates to (justification). and then there is that We are the World Cassette...

Oh, okay...There's all this 70's and 80's stuff that I like...
Journey, 38 Special, Go Go's, Tears for Fears, Duran Duran...I secretly like Wham even though, outwardly, I have to make faces and groan. I liked that 70's song "Love Will Keep Us Together" and "Kung Fu Fighting".
I'm sorry, but I never liked Styx even back then!! I wanted to! Never, never liked that song "You Light up My Life"!

I LOVE most of the things on this list, incl. REO, the Go-Go's, and 38 Special. But then I also own the Partridge Family's Greatest Hits and the soundtrack from the Rocky Horror Picture Show!

I have the "Rocky Horror" soundtrack, too. Love it. Can anyone top this? I have the one and only album by Nick Gilder. Remember "Hot Child in the City"? Puke!!! I also have the BEE GEE's version of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. I love the original cast version of Jesus Christ Superstar. (Theatre Version, movie ***** ) It was my very first album. The other kids listened to Mother Goose. Not me. I also like bad 80's stuff. I was weaned on it.

Don't dream it,

BE IT!!
