Maryeo, I thought my sociopathic brother made for an interesting holiday meal, but yours has us beat! I agree with cape chef, there's a movie (or article, or something) in all of that! Very un-Normal Rockwellian, your family.

Yes, indeedy, we put the "fun" in dysfunctional. The movie is a good idea; kind of a cross between "So I Married an Ax Murderer" and "The Blair Witch Project." I'll have my people call your people.

OH comeon CDS you can have producers and writers just whip that movie up....I'm thinking independant movie just take a video camera and have it run throughout the day.....Maryeo what a sense of humer you have!!!! The porno industry makes movies in a weekend I think...NYT this past Sun (not previous line of work)
Well,I'm dropping my children off on Wed at 12 in Memphis and then....I have until Sun 12 to be by myself....now....the options as I've thought of them are, stay in Memphis (William Sonoma outlet and high school/college buddies)or go on the New
Orleans....It's been awhile since I've been down and a few days in the Big Easy may just be what the doctor ordered.
Dinner at Artesia, breakfast at Mother's, lunch at Ugelishs, Spice inc shopping,
christmas shopping and eating!!! Oh yeah and picking up Martins andouille, Community coffee (dark roast and chickory), lump crabmeat, crawfish (it's been so long is it even in season now...)
It's oyster time so I'll hit Acmes or check out whose got a great po boy. Absolutely cannot leave without Central grocery olive salad. Think that covers NO...
Or I can drive back Wed and do paperwork all week...
There are some outrageous flight packages to Europe...$599-$699 from Chicago to Italy including 5 days hotel...amazing....where is that passport?

Gee, Shroomgirl, what a difficult choice. Hmm, New Orleans or paperwork . . . glad I don't have to make that decision. Wow, a Williams Sonoma outlet?

I'll invite everyone to the grand opening of the future box-office smash (tentatively titled "As the Stomach Turns"), but you'll have to provide your own sleeping bags.

Shroomgirl, one of my best buds from school is working in the kitchen at Artesia!!! Please wish him a happy Thanksgiving from Missy in Scottsdale. His name is Allan and if you get the chance, see if he has any butt left. He says he's working his *ss off!!

John Besh is exceptional! What talent!!!
This guy is so nice and has such an incredible restaurant. Artesia has got to be one of the most exciting places to dine...it's just so far off the beaten path.
Abita Springs is about 45-60 minutes from N.O.
If I get there I'll say hi....they were supposed to open cottages for stay overs....and a spa....wonder how far that's gotten...HMMMMMM.

I'm having trouble casting the part of Magically Delicious Uncle Bob; I'm currently interviewing inmates at the local asylum for other key roles, but none of the midgets there seem to have the proper sinister edge required for the role. I may have to investigate Tleilaxu Face Dancers . . .

Chef David, you could play the kindly neighbor with the enviable collection of tires and autos in the yard. Oh my - I forgot to tell everyone that this scenario will be occuring in West Virginia. I couldn't make this up.

Maryeo, nobody does small and weird like Danny DiVito. Can you picture him as MDUB? What you really need though, is John Malkovich, minus about 2 feet of height.

I was picturing "Uncle Bob" from Twin Peaks although there's a "fixture of the streets" (read homeless person) in Missoula, Montana that says he a leprechaun. He's very dirty, plays guitar, sings songs and according to legend, he will grant you one wish if you know the magic word...Phantasmagorical. I'm not kidding...he'd be perfect.
