| |  The Simpsons Movie
Today's the day "The Simpsons Movie" hits the big screen. I'm going to to see it in a couple of hours. As a major fan of the TV show I hope it turns out to be good.
I love "The Simpsons", and feel just about any situation you may come across has been addressed in the show at one time or another in its 20 years on the air. No cultural or political institution is safe from being skewered on the show. Left, right, famous, infamous, doctors, lawyers, and Indian chiefs, the show takes a poke at everybody, and that's what makes it great.

I just got back! Took the kids... they loved it. There were some 'racier' parts, but I don't think they were phased. VERY, very funny. They done good!

Glad to hear it! My wife and I are taking our ten year daughter, (she watches the show so I'm not worried about her), and her friend.

Just came back from seeing the Simpsons. It was better than I thought it would be. It was kinda like watching a tv episode, except that this is much more well-thought out than a regular tv episode. The audience seemed to really enjoy it as there lots of laughter throughout the show and then lots of clapping at the end. |

i agree, saw the move on friday night with all the drunk people, it was great, so funny i know i missed some jokes cause i was laughing, well worth the 10$ movie ticket. enjoy |

I am not really a huge simpsons fan but went with friends to see it and I could not stop laughing it was very funny. It is the subtle things that really make you laugh I think.

It was very funny. A bit too linear in the story line compared to the show, however, in my opinion. I love the TV show because there are usually two or three different plot lines going at one time. The first four minutes of a TV episode is almost a short story in and of itself.
That being said, it was well written, which was not surprising. The creators took shots at everybody, and that's what makes The Simpsons great.

Did anyone dress-up for the movie? I told my wife that I'm going with my co-worker to see the movie and he's one of the biggets Simpsons fans ever.
My wife asked if he's going to dress-up. I said you mean like wear a Simpsons t-shirt? My wife replied "No, like painting himself yellow or writing 'HOMER' across his belly."  | |
