Default Ronald McDonald House

Dear Chefs and Industry Professionals:

I wanted to tell you about an organization that has touched my family personally. Last week my wife and I celebrated the birth of our first child. Shortley after his birth we were devested to learn that he was not able to breath on his own and would have to be transported 2 hours away to the Neonatel Intensive Care Unit. As of this morning we are thanking God that he is stable and will recover. During this tramatic time for my wife and myself were fortunate enough to be taken in by our local Ronald McDonald House which houses families whose children are hospitalized. One of the goals of this organizations is to have business and restaurants sponser a meal for the families staying there every night. This is something that is very easy to do as a restaurant and I ask other Chefs out there to contact your nearest Ronald McDonald House at rmhc and provide food for the house one night a month.

Thanks
Andrew Lynch

RMH is a great charity, well run and very relevant.
While I'm happy you got to experience their incredible program and hospitality, I'm very sorry it took a personal tradegy to come to that.
Our hearts are with you and your child.

I've donated food in the past to RMH......very basic fare was appreciated, the slightly different was left. Siblings are many times staying at the house too.

I'm so sorry you're first experience with birth was tramatic.

Default I AM FAMILIAR WITH THE RON McDONALD HOUSE

A LYNCH:
Good morning to you. I am sorry to learn of the recent health experience of your new born. I am happy to learn that you were taken care of at the RMH. I was the volunteer chef at the local RMH here in Las Vegas from when it opened July 1998 thru Dec. 31st 1999. (17, Mos.) I bought all the food at my own expense... baked in the morning & then began preparing dinner in early afternoon for 6:00 dinner & I served it as well. I then swabbed the deck cleaned all around the stove & totally secured the double kitchen before I left. Sometimes I had help from one or two of the lady guests in the clean-up portion. Once per week for 10 1/2 to 12 hours. I also did Thanksgiving day ,Xmas & New year day as well.
I always enjoyed the small children that were there & many of them wanted to help me doing various chores in the kitchen & I always found something for them to do to make them feel impiortant.
Due to my advanced age I no longer can do this chore any more.
Good luck to you & your family.

Z~BESTUS.

Great organization! And great to hear that all is getting better with your little one.

My students conduct a good bit of community service. As such, some of them suggested we include the RMH on our Gingerbread House Construction Tour this winter. I have heard so many good things about this organization, I am looking forward to sharing in their mission.

I feel for you. My first child was 13 weeks premature and spent 9½ weeks in NICU. Didn't need Ronnie's house as the hospital was just down the road, but have supported them in the past. I understand your fears and , in my opinion, the NICU is the only part of a hospital I would want to be in. The staff, drs., and nurses are amazing. Hope all goes well.
