Default "It's alright Ma, it's life and life only!" B. Dylan

On Oct 9, just before time to go home from work, my hearing aid broke. Can't be fixed so have to find the receipt from last time and hope the 1 year warranty is still good. This will be the 5-6th time it has broken since I bought it new in 2001. Each time it costs me for a 1year warranty, and it usuallly goes bad just weeks after the warranty expires.

But WAIT! That's not all, I got home to find a Jury Summons!

But WAIT! There's still more, I found that the kitty had "broken" into my room that I'm remodeling, and started scratching at the paper liner of all the insulation I put in the outside wall. 4-5 places or more, seems he likes the fluffy stuff underneath and rips it out.

BUT WAIT! There's still more, today is my 38th wedding anniversary, and I woke up in a bad mood, because it got pretty cold last night, and the electrician never showed up last weekend to re-wire my other remodeling project, our bedroom! Can't believe the luck. He says it will be at least 2 weeks before he can come.

But WAIT! There's more. There's going to be a big layoff at my company that goes into effect Nov.5. No one knows until the day it happens who's going and who's not.

But, I've been married 38 years to a wonderful "light of my life" type woman, who still gets "carded" to prove she's over 21!

And I'm still alive after all these years. Guess life can seem like mixed blessings, but we get caught up in the little details.

Since we're trying to scrimp and save money just in case, Culver's is celebrating and we got a coupon for 5 butter burgers for $5. Guess that will be our anniversary dinner tonight!

Doc -- we got your back.

Happy Anniversary!

Give kitty a water bottle squirt, the electrician a mindful earful, and your beautiful wife a kiss....

Cheers! S

Culver's supposedly was voted the best hamburger chain in the country so they're celebrating today only. Their commercial shows them using a paint brush to brush on some butter on the inside of the top part of the bun.

Otherwise, they advertise that their meat is never frozen and ground fresh several times a day or something like that.

Never had one until acouple weeks ago. Not bad. Just a nice tasting regular hamburger, Ya really can't taste the butter much, but I've had far worse hamburgers from regular restaurants let alone "chain" restaurants. Even out in California, the "In and Out" burger I had didn't compare to this Culver's Butter Burger!

Amazing how quiet life gets when you can't hear! Dropped off the hearing aid at lunch time, and probably be a couple weeks before it comes back from Long Island, NY. Widex Corp. btw:

Think you should just retire?

Hope Nov. 5 will be a good one for you.

After all that crud, a wonderful relationship to celebrate (and with a not-bad burger, I might add)! Wishing you 38 more wonderful years, Doc!

By the way, my brother visited here recently and although he had a choice of good places to enjoy lunch, he chose Culvers.

Never though In/Out was particlary special, or even very good. Better'n Mickey D's, but that's no great feat.

Thanks for the info on the butter burger.

Thanks Mezz! Do you think that there might be some sort of environmental/genetic taste bud thing going on since we're all originally from the Quad Cities??
