Default How Do I Link to a Posting?

There have been times when I've wanted to send someone a link to a specific post in a thread, but I've not been able to figure out how to do that. Can someone provide the info for creating and sending a link to a single post in a multi-post thread?
Thanks!

shel

Just copy the URL from your browser and paste is in.

Here are the links to your last 3 posts which are exactly the same:

Sorry, that doesn't work. Try creating a link to a single post somewhere within a thread. Unless I'm a complete dunce, it can't be done, or at least I can't figure out how it's done. Try creating a link to your message, or this message - not the thread. If you can do that, please let me know how it was done.

BTW, I don't know why my message was posted three times. I tried to delete the duplicate copies and the forum software wouldn't let me.

Each post in a thread has a number in the upper right. That number is a link. That link is the one you want to copy and paste.

Oh, why didn't you just say you wanted to know how to href to the html bookmark within a page.

You also do it by placing #n where n is the nth post in that thread at the end of the main URL.

See, both these go to the same post within a thread:

www cheftalk com/forums/food-cooking-questions-discussion/38573-how-do-i-link-posting.html#post204587
(I took out the .'s so this thing wont convert it)

This thread has been moved.

Please do not post these types of discussions in the food and cooking forums.

Also don't post the same thread three times.
