I'm taking my usual 2 weeks in a couple months on the usual Family Cruise. Mom just tentatively booked a 14 day Panama Canal on a Royal Caribbean boat. It leaves out of San Juan, Puerto Rico and hits;
Casa de Campo, Dominican Rep
Cartagena, Colombia
Punta Arenas, Costa Rica
Huatulco, Mexico
Acapulco, Mexico
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
and ends in San Francisco, California. The price on the cruise is good but with so many of us going, flying down to San Juan may pose a bit of an issue so hoping it all works out. If we do go, we'll most likely be in San Juan for a couple days and wondering about places to hit there and at the ports. We're not typical tourists, we don't follow the crowds or do excursions. We typically rent a car and get ourselves lost on local roads and we've found a lot of beautiful picturesque places free of tourists crowds. I'll welcome any suggestions but mostly in San Juan, I don't wanna lock myself in a hotel room for a day waiting to board a boat and after watching No Reservations on that area, it peeked my interest.
