Sick Photos of SPAM

This site is a couple of mouse clicks away from spam central. Every so often the forums get it...Now the photo gallery is being taken advantage of. Doesn't anyone monitor what is being posted?

Thank you, PsychoChef. I'll let the forum administrators know. Not all moderators have the clearance to remove this stuff.

I think "This site is a couple of mouse clicks away from spam central" is a bit of an overstatement. We dilligently work to keep the forums (and photo gallery) free of unwanted advertisements and unwelcomed content. However, it is a constant effort and there are many offenders.

It is an ongoing issue and unfortunately we cannot be present every minute of ever day we have several members who diligently report spam to us. I really hate the idea of locking down the photo gallery to where I or Jim have to approve every photo but possibly that is what should happen. Currently members cannot post links in their first few posts which has great cut down on the amount of spam. Second all new members have to go through an approval process which amazingly enough still brings spamers.

Finally, a new version of the bulletin board software is coming out and it has upgraded spam controls which I think will help us greatly.

Well I have been trying to report spam, however there seems to be some kind of bug in the system. After using the 'report spam' tool on an offending post, i enter the description and click submit and it says 'new users cant post links' or something to that effect.

Its an issue when people cant report the offending posts... especially since I spend so much time online I can catch more of the spam than the average user. I have always been a forum junkie, and as a member of the technology generation, I am pretty much at my computer 24/7

that said, I just want to help. Please allow me to report spam easier. I dont know what the problem is. Maybe I am too new.
