Looks like Brett has decided he's had enough.

Thanks, man. It was a privilege watching you for all these years. There's been ups and downs, but without a doubt it was always exciting. He's the most exciting QB in the history of the game, imho.

He never missed a game. Just think about that. I feel a little funny knowing #4 will never take another snap.

I won't believe it until they start the regular season without him. He has flipped flopped so many times.

Living here in Wisconsin, I was sorry to hear the news of his retirement, but some people are taking it a little too hard around here. I've heard stories of people breaking down and crying, getting violently angry, etc. As I said to some friends yesterday, it's a sad commentary, but there are people out there that will remember where they were when they heard the news about Brett, just like when they heard the news about JFK or the bombing of the World Trade Center.

Even though my husband and I are no sports fans (we turn on the Super Bowl five minutes before the end so we can understand what people are talking about the next day), we've heard plenty of people talking about this. You're right, Pete, this'll be one of those "Where were you when" moments for a lot of people.

I have a simmering resentment towards professional sports in general (not against players or fans) because of the insane amounts of public capital put into infrastructures for these highly paid "players" to "play".

Kuan, I assume Brett won't miss having to play in the Dome once a year, either. He had some real tough games up there through the years. Not so bad over the last few, but that place was his nemsis for most of his career.

When asked by ESPN football insider Chris Mortensen how he felt about following the legendary Brett Favre as the Packers' starting quarterback, Aaron Rogers answered by fracturing his foot and separating his non-throwing shoulder.

He is expected back to answer more questions in six to eight weeks.

I thought Brett had at least one more Superbowl run in him. The Pack had a great team last year.

I just listened to his press conference. He just doesn't have the mental strength to go through the preparation required. The game has worn him out.

Class all the way. The cool thing about him is how the length of his career has allowed fans to see him grow from a cocky young man with problems that many regular people experience, to a family man that understands how blessed he was to have been able to play a kid's game he loved. I feel fortunate to be a Brett Favre and Green Bay Packer fan.
