Default Long Rant - receipts

I'm talking really loong, pun intended. I just got back from spending $8.11 for one item at Pep Boys (auto parts store). The receipt they gave me measures 31"!!! What a waste of paper. Along with the total, the darn thing includes warranty info in English and Spanish and a survey request. Thanks, I'll be sure to do their survey and let them know what I think.

This trend is growing (another intended pun) with grocery chains and other stores. WTF.

Home Depot prints good sized receipts too.

Costco, on the other hand, has downsized their receipt. I'm glad.

It's usually the big chains that print the biggest receipts.

Some places ask if you want a receipt or not, and I appreciate that. For things like bread, milk, beer and such, I say no.

That 31" receipt is really lame!!

What a stupid waste. 31" receipt for 1 item is absurb.
What's even more absurb is when a clerk asks for your name, address and zip code, and can't process the transaction without it

Got three receipts for an $8 item yesterday. Haven't measured, but it looks close to the 31 inches in total.

Agreed, Cat, and then when they enter a fake zip, which will make their analysis useless anyway. I guess people from Schenectady, NY are travelling all over the USA to shop (zip 12345)
