| We all know by now that FN seems to have problems with credentials. Robert Irvine was only one of several instances where they got caught with their resumes down. Apparently, it works the other way as well. Last night I happened to catch an episode of the new series: Ultimate Recipe Challange or something like that. As I understand it, this is a contest for home cooks. Thousands sent in their recipes, which were somehow winnowed down to three top choices in each of numerous subcategories. The episode I saw was on cookies. In two of the three subcategories, Camilla Saulsbury was a finalist, and, in fact, won both of them and was best in show. Don't get me wrong. I think Camilla is a very talented and creative pastry chef. If I was holding a contest for best new cookie, I would expect here to score high in the ratings. But to pit her against home cooks? Peleeze! Camilla Saulsbury is a professional; a cookbook author with at least five titles dealing with cookies, brownies, and puff pastry. I'm not a baker, but recognized her. There's no way the folks at FN couldn't not have. So I'm wondering? Was this an aberration? Or is the game somehow fixed, and lots of home cooks are getting their hopes up for nothing? |

| Ultimate Recipe Challange is one of the cheesiest shows being produced by FN. I tried watching a couple times, but only lasted 10 mins or so. Guy's commentary is so cornball its like listening to the commentary on Celebrity Death Match. Unfortunately, the show seems to be on all the time in the evenings. |
