| I love coming to America. Last time was 2006 spent 2 weeks in New Orleans. Before that, we've always rented an RV and cruised around the southern states. This year we're flying into Charlotte NC via phillidelphia, But I think we'll be staying in South Carolina. I've seen lovely vacation rentals in Columbia, but havnt decided on a property yet. I'm so excited to be a)NOT WORKING b) coming back to our favourite holiday country and c) Spending some quality time with my husband and our youngest boy. So as of the 7th July for 2 weeks I'll be chatting on home ground I cant wait...See when you're holiday is immenent, it simply cant come too soon enough, can it? Anyway I thought I'd just let you know i'll be local for a fortnight

| Welcome, Bughut! I'm sorry I'm 1,000 miles away, give or take a hundred, or I'd be happy to greet you to the U.S. Have some Carolina barbecue and think of me! Mezz

| Bughut, Dang that's good to hear. If you're traveling thru the Richmond VA area, It'd be an honor to share a beverage with ya and the family. Now where did I put that bottle of Laphroiag?........ ![]() Just PM me if ya want to say hello. We're just off 95 and not too far from 85. Both are roads you'll need to travel to get to Charlotte and all points south of Philly so......... |

| Ahh, Thanks for the welcome all. Sorry to be a bad potential guest old school, But neither of us are into the peaties. I'll just bet you like the Talisker too . I like Tamdhu ( bit girlie Iknow and Bryans Fave is The Glenfiddich. I doubt we'll be up your way as a family. But I'll lay down money that Bryan will be taking a jaunt to Gettysburg at some time, amongst many other battle sites. He's been civil war mad since he was 12. He and his best bud are reb wargamers He even has a 14ft by 8ft table in what used to be our 2nd living room where they re-inact gettysburg with 25mm figures they've been painting fabulously forever. Mee too Nan, If we could ever afford it we would buy a holiday home in south Carolina. We've been met with such genuine welcome everywhere we've gone. Mind you, Lottery permitting, I'd also have a wee place of my very own in New Orleans. My favourite place in the whole world. Sorry to miss you mezzaluna, Of all the great folk I've met on this site I'd really like a chance for a chin wag with yourself. I'm soooo looking forward to my next america fix
