Dear Brad,

The Mauna Loa Macadamia Cooking Treasury is one of my favorite books! It was the first one that I wrote for Ten Speed Press and the recipes are fantastic. The reason I wrote this book is because I had gone on a scuba trip to the Big Island of Hawaii and I went io the Mauna Loa macadamia nut plantation. After sampling their fantastic nuts, I asked to buy their cookbook (I asssumed that they had one). The woman said that they did not have a cookbook although it was constantly requested! Sooooo, I asked the name and phone number of the president of the company, called him and the rest is history. What a fun project it was and I met great people and made several fast friends.

Unfortunately, the book is out of print (usually a cookbook has about a ten year life because so many new books are printed every year) but you can find it at www.abebooks.com , which is a great used book site that sells books from all over the world. I have also seen it on ebay.

I must say that I love what I do because every book is a terrific learning experiance and new friends from all walks of life are made.

Leslie
