Post cork, plastic cork, twist off, now can?

I was reading about a wine from Australia now being marketed in a can. Somehow I can't picture the elegance of a pop top Cabernet.

Of course, this would radically alter the stereotypical image of rednecks. Will there be a Napa Valley bikini team, I wonder?

Can you imagine buying a six pack of sparkling wine for that "special picnic"
There is noway this won't affect the flavor of the wine....Thunderbird/Ripple; so are the cans returnable/recyclable??????

I've heard for years that aluminum production is driving glass manufacturers out of business. This is too much. So instead of my cool wine rack I can look forward to one of those Container Store items that holds the cans on their sides and rolls the next one to the front as I take the first available can of wine? Sheesh!

I don't mind the screw-top bottles, but cans?! Never!!!!!! Don't tell me that it won't effect the taste of the wine!

The taster thought it would be fine, as long as the can doesn't show up on the table... http://www.wineloverspage.com/sheral...orkorcan.shtml
