Wink Okay, what about half bottles....?

I personally likej half-bottles, unless they're an excuse for having a bad wine-by-the-glass program. FORGET ABOUT WHEN YOU SAY YOU'LL ORDER A HALF-BOTTLE... WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU DID IT???

Ha Ha let's hear your thoughts??????????

I almost always order a split with my wife because she is not big drinker. A half bottle works really well for us. The problem is I usually see other great wines that I want to try, and most lists don't have a tremendous selection of half bottles.

I think the last time we ordered half bottles was almost four years ago at The French Laundry...there was a lot of wine that night and I'm quite sure we ordered halfs.

I see so few half bottles on lists these days that I honestly can't remember the last time I ordered one. For what it's worth, what my wife and I would tend to order would be a split of something white and/or something bubbly to have with the starters - that way we can move on to [a full bottle] of something more substantial for the rest of the meal.
