Hi Missyk, Through the grace of god I have had the pleasure to dine at a few of these restaurants. Mostly in manhattan. Le cirque 2000, Lutece, Le Bernardin All of which where incredible dining experiences. The Depth of there cellars and the intense detail paid to the wines we're very evident. These restaurants are also painfully expensive,But given the chance they are worth it. A number of years ago my wife and I and another couple (he owns a fine wine shop)Drove up to Vermont to a place called The Hermitage. We drank Olivier Leflave corton Charlemagne,Krug clos de mensuil and Louis Latour batarde montrechet just on the ride up. We got there and settled into our rooms and went to dinner.....the food was oh so mediocre. but the wine selection was incredible . All regions of the globe we're covered. Prices ranged from $25 a bottle to well into the 4 digits. we toured the wine cellar (huge) and then proceeded to cherry pick the list.had a great time.. 2:00 am out side watching the moon and stars, smoking a Davidoff and enjoying a 63 Fonseca.
