Default shipping cakes

I need to ship a decorated cake for NY to FL. I'm thinking I should cover it in fondant but beyond this does anyone have experience with this? Any advice/tips? Thanks!

Thanks for the warning! Nope, this will be going to the keys, to someone I know. I think I may have been emailed by your Winter Park lady a while back, something about the name/town sounds very familiar so I'll heed your warning!
