I'm searching for a great chocolate cream pie with a great flaky crust. Any suggestions?

In saucepan, combine:

1 cup white granulated sugar
3 Tbsps EACH cornstarch & Dutch-processed cocoa powder
1/4 tsp table salt

Add 16 fl. oz. homogenized milk & 3 large well-beaten egg yolks (reserving whites to make meringue). Cook, stirring, over med. flame until mixture begins to thicken. Add judiciously small amount to egg yolks to temper; then return egg mixture to the saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly with a heat-proof silicone spatula, until custard reaches consistency of a thick pudding. Remove pan from heat.

Add 2 ounces softened sweet butter & 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract. Spoon the finished custard into a baked pie crust. Top with meringue, browning briefly under broiler.
