Talking creating your own recipes

what are the first steps to creating your own recipes is there any rules . (confection and sweets) How do you start . thanks

Measure and record all your ingredients.

Measure again after you're done. Do the math and figure out how much you used.

The only rules are that you must have an understanding of the properties of each ingredient. If you don't have that, buy a baking chemistry book, and just start experimenting.
