Default Info wanted on how to start a bakery

I am looking for information on how to start a bakery. Could anybody tell me if there are set guidelines to doing so? If so, where could I find them?
Thanks

Everyone will give you advice about eqpt. and so on, but to run a succesfull bakeries you MUST have one very important thing: Customers. They come in two forms, the take-away, and the contract or bulk customer. You need both. The takeaways will provide you with daily cash and quick sales, usually under $10/ transaction; and the bulk sales/contracts, daily deliveries, etc, will pay the bills, but only every 15 or 30 days. If you can get a pulse on this, some kind of estimate, then you can work backwards, figuring how much to allot for rent, equipment purchases/lease, advertising, utilities, and salaries.

I've been around here long enough to be able to tell you that there have been past conversations about this here at Chef Talk.

I suggest using the search feature here to seek them out. There was a lot of good advice ranging from location to naming of the bakery!
