| when some recipes call for shortening, is there any way i can replace it with something else and still get the same results? |

| What is it you don't like about shortening? Is it the partially hydrogenated oil or what? If you have access to a Whole Foods store, they sell a product that is a solid vegetable shortening with none of the bad stuff in it. I have seen it in health food stores as well. Jock |
