| This is the date cake I made this morning 1 cup soft butter1 cup brown sugar 2 cups flour 2 cups chopped dates 1 teaspoon baking powder 3 large eggs 2 tablespoons very, very strong black coffee. Optional. Heat oven to 325 Cream butter and sugar till sugar has almost dissolved into butter add coffee, and eggs 1 at a time, sift baking powder with flour add to butter mixture, stir in dates. Put pan of choice this was oblong 10 x 3 1/2 ease into corners, sprinkle brown sugar over top and bake 1 hour plus. |
