I'm having some trouble getting my drop cookies to get a brownish color to them. If I keep it in the oven for too long the bottoms will burn. I would like to get more of a brownish color to them without using an egg wash. Would brushing them with milk work? I would really like some help

If you like the formula and don't want to tinker then just double pan and move them a little higher in the oven.

Thank you so much for the welcome and the help. Here is the recipe: Rock Cookies Ingredients 1 1/2 cups sugar 4 ounces butter 2 eggs 3 1/2 cup flour 2/3 cup milk 1 cup of raisins 1 cup of mixed fruit peel 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1 tablespoon vanilla 3 tablespoons almond extract Directions 1. Mix sugar, flour, baking powder together. 2. Melt butter and add to flour mixture. 3. Add to dry ingredients. Beat eggs, vanilla, and almond extract with milk. 4. Combine in a bowl with previous mixture. 5. Drop into balls using a teaspoon on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes or until golden brown

Try substituting some dark brown sugar for 25-50% of the sugar in your recipe (all of mine are about 60 brown to 40 white.). You could also try upping the butter and decreasing the milk.
