Default Gluten-free bread

Hi does any body have a recipe for 'acceptable' gluten-free bread? I have a recipe and it rises, and is soft and tastes good -as soon as I make a sandwich (even if the filling is just cheese or ham) - it all fall apart!! Any help or suggestions or recipes will be most appreciated. Thanks

Sadly enough, there really is not a great recipe for sandwich bread or
slicing bread....at least I've had know luck..I too am gluten intolerant as
well as lactose intolerant.....Its hard, but I just suffer the consequences.
I've tried most all of the different recipes and just don't enjoy them....good luck!!!!!!

sometimes toasting the bread helps. have you tried food for life's brown rice tortillas? they are fairly acceptable as a wrap. i did find a recipe for a sourdough bread on the red star yeast site - it uses ricotta cheese in it, and i substituted some sorghum and millet flour for some of the flour mix and added a couple of tablespoons of ground flax seed, made it seem more like a whole grain bread. also for some reason using a bread machine with a gluten free cycle seems to yield better results.
not good for lactose intolerance though!

I use a breadmaker and the bread is very tasty and toasts well, open sandwiches are also fine but when I put a filling in - even if it is a dry filling - it just seems to fall apart - hey ho - if anybody can help - would be extremely grateful

I think in the latest Food & Wine or Sunset magazine there is a recipe for gluten free cinnamon banana bread. If I find it I'll post so you can have one more recipe to try.
